Youth Enhancement Program
The Family Advocates Youth Enhancement Program is a free and voluntary support program available to the children of our enrolled parents. This program engages children and youth in age-appropriate activities that building social and emotional growth, school-readiness, and leadership skills. Youth are ages 0-18 and attend a group 1-3 times a week. The older youth are encouraged to participate in activities and lead younger children, encouraging peer support and role modeling.
The YEP volunteers are friendly and caring adults (over 21 years of age) with experience in child development, education, parenting, and/or leadership. Volunteers lead by positive example--keeping children safe and feeling nurtured. They are dependable and committed to the well-being of the whole family, are unbiased, and provide positive feedback to parents. Volunteers work with the Director to offer fun, age-appropriate, educational activities and set consistent boundaries to the youth groups. All volunteers complete training and a thorough background check.
