Family Strengthening

Our family strengthening volunteers show us bravery by working with families to create strong networks and healthy habits through classes, activities, and more. These programs engage children and parents in building their Five Protective Factors and solidifying strong and healthy families. Incentives like diapers, wipes, food, and clothing is earned by families for attending educational classes like financial literacy, nutrition, and childhood developmental milestones. Parents can also earn incentives by attending support groups that promote a sense of community and decrease isolation—a key factor in domestic violence. If you are a parent or caregiver seeking support please contact our team at familystrengthening@strongandsafe.org to find out more information.

Volunteers Needed!

The Family Strengthening volunteers are friendly and caring adults (over 21 years of age) with experience in child development, education, parenting, and/or leadership. Volunteers lead by positive example--keeping children safe and feeling nurtured. They are dependable and committed to the well-being of the whole family, are unbiased, and provide positive feedback to parents.  Volunteers work with the Director to offer fun, age-appropriate, educational activities and set consistent boundaries to the youth groups. All volunteers complete training and a thorough background check.
